Boscia Green Tea Oil-Control Mask Review

Hello my Queens!

Today I want to talk about masks, specifically the boscia Green Tea Oil-control peel-off mask. You may already know my love for peel-off masks because of my childhood habit of putting glue on my hands and peeling it off.  The idea of an oil controlling, peeling, and green tea mask sounds like Heaven to me. My skin screams “YASS GIRL!!!”.  Green tea is one of my favorite ingredients in products, consumable or otherwise (along with snail mucus)!

Let’s get to the nitty gritty.

It comes in a soft squeezable tube for easy application.  My own personal struggle is always getting product all over the tube.

First impression:

  • It had a strong cooling and tingly effect on my skin once I applied it. I would not recommend putting it on in front of (near) the A/C as I thought my face was going to get frost bitten.
  • The texture is tacky and it went on easily. It is recommended to use a thick layer when using. I tried a thick and thin later to see the difference (results below).
  • The one thing I always end up doing is getting product on my eyebrows. It doesn’t matter what mask it is, it will always end up on my ‘brows. Of course it is not recommended, and I always have a semi freak out, but clearly I was fine.

What’s Nice:

  • Japanese Green Tea
    • Reduces inflammation
    • Antioxidant that soothes and protects
  • Cucumber
    • Cooling and soothing
    • Oil control
  • Silica Powder
    • Helps absorb oil
  • Burdock Root
    • Reduces blemishes

While wearing the mask:

Instant cooling sensation lasts until its completely dry.  My face felt tight after it completely dried. I tried to have a conversation with my boyfriend, he thought I was upset. Nope, just my resting bitch face.  A small part started to lift at my chin, which was helpful for me to get a hold on the mask to remove.

Removing the mask:

It’s always my mission to try to take off a mask in one complete piece. I never have enough patience to and end up ripping it into pieces. I thought it was easy to remove and the pain factor was minimal. However, that peeling feel is great and always satisfying.  Also — good news for you — I still have my eyebrows. The mini freak out was short lived. If you do get it on your eyebrows, you can always wash it off with warm water (you’re good!).

My skin felt great afterwards and I noticed how smooth, clear and clean it felt.

Next day:

I decided to wash my face and not put on make-up. My skin looked great (it looked like I was glowing) and I noticed oil was at a low. Nice.

Buy or Nein?

I would definitely buy again. I think if you use it once or twice a week it could really help with controlling your oil. I would be curious to see how it helps my skin within a month or two.

5 out of 5 snail friends!
